Miss Sydney Heffernan of Perth-Andover was the lucky winner of the second annual PABC Shop Local holiday promotion gift certificate.
Sydney won $500 to spend however she likes at any businesses in the village. Her first purchase was a lovely new purse that she bought from Patti’s Gift Shoppe!

The Perth-Andover Business Connection was created in 2012 by village merchants and independent business people to support and promote our local businesses.
In December of 2012 the PABC donated $500 to promote a Shop Local Christmas prize. During one day, local shoppers filled out hundreds of entry forms. The promotion was so popular that PABC members voted to make the promotion an annual event!

The promotion ran all day Saturday, December 14th at participating businesses. Shoppers filled out raffle tickets and dropped them into the prepared boxes at each store. Foodland collected so many names that the staff had to pack the tickets down to make room for more entries!

The raffle boxes were collected from around town and mixed together in one big box at The Look-One Stop. Rose Morrissey was on hand, doing some Christmas shopping at this new department store in Perth, and she graciously consented to perform the duty of picking a winning ticket from out of the hundreds of slips submitted!

And….so Sydney’s name was drawn! Sydney filled out her winning entry at Clark’s SaveEasy. She told us that she likes to shop local because Perth is her home town.
