Beware Of Imitations!
Keep in mind, that we must always beware of imitations. Kind of like comparing the Ricardian theory of rent (David Ricardo 1772-1823), also called the “economic rent” model, to agriculture’s modern “ecofallow system”. Never mind if’n you don’t “get it”! Like, there are some 800,000 “apps” one can download, and one can have considerable difficulty sorting the truth from the imitations. Taberduker!
Anyways, as I was walking the streets of P-A and wondering where many of the social-souls were I was told by a local knuckle-dragger that they could be found in warmer climes – Florida. As I slipped, slid, and shivered along I was reminded of how they who flock-off to the southern beaches too often miss out on Beech Day at the woodlot, cutting tiger-wood (striped-maple), rockin’ rock maple, yeller birch (Gramps always said to cut it before it turns white!), and whatever else ain’t poplar. Rough lookin’ wood that’s too hard to split until a cold frosty wintry morn when its ’bout 25 below! Shades of the village sign that stated ‘Would Split’er – For Rent’, by the hour.
Anyways too, on New Year’s Day I shaved off my Decembeard (A crazy craze purportedly started by Santa!). E-yup! Imitations can be a lot like counterfeit currency being passed of as “coin of the Realm”. And too, I hear there won’t be any harvest shortage of Macadamia nuts – mostly from Queensland, Australia, not Macedonia. You read it here first! so, beware of imitations … all things considered!
All Things Considered
I’ve never been worried
Too much about wealth
Tho I’ve oft been concerned
About the state of my health,
I’ve not been tormented
By a lacking of “things”
But seek satisfaction
In what each day brings,
I realize there’s set-backs
That all must expect
To be taken in stride
Minimize their effect,
Tho, for sure, its essential
I don’t dwell on money
Fun, love, and family
Are the true icing-honey,
I’m aware of my limits
In resources and stock
My measure, my means
My walk and my talk,
No use to complain
If, all things considered
Mislead and misguided
By fool’s-gold that glittered,
Every up-lifting moment
An occasion to seize
Opportunity knocks
When the heart is at ease,
Relevant riches
Leastwise to me
Are good graces granted
That some cannot see,
A roof o’er my head
Enough fare to eat
A shirt on my back
And shoes on my feet,
Creature comforts supplied
Needs nurtured and met
Provisions provided
By … Life’s safety net!

Meanwhile up at Coffee-Coffee I was talking to the boys in the corner clutch from ‘Upyourway’ about how we should all be aware of imitations, as I looked across the street to Drawn-to-Drawing, Seemore’s Optometry, and Paradise Gambling’! Face-to-Tubeface! Taberduker! Shades of naughty chamber-music for the proverbial chambered nautilus. Life’s safety net? Whole, complete, Alpha to Omega in a nutshell – I Corinthians (KJV) 15:28 – “And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” Imitations? Shades of how the boys were reminiscing about the albino deer someone shot last hunting season. Shoot, (No pun intended!) last time I was out snowshoeing I saw at least five albino rabbits!!!

Oeuvre – a writer’s works as a whole! life’s like that! Don’t be swayed by “chin music”. Remember that sign that read ‘Don’t Eat The Fish’ – animals birds, and fish can’t read! Factual to actual! Like – over the Holidays I heard ‘Radioactive’ sung so much that my ears are starting to glow! An aphorism – Absolute power corrupts absolutely! Absolutely! T.S. Eliot – “For last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await …”. In 2014, let’s hope – “the light at the end of the tunnel is not switched off”!
