SPCA Shelter Tails…
Stephanie Kelley
Another shelter adoption success story! String Bean found her forever home a couple of weeks ago. She’d been at the shelter the longest of all the cats, and deserved to finally have a real home of her own.
String Bean was found, along with her three little kittens, in Maple View near a community mailbox about a year ago. She was friendly and sweet, but so skinny it was obvious that it had been awhile since she’d been fed regularly…. hence the name.
During her stay at the shelter she enjoyed her meals so much her nickname became Pork n Beans!
Her new home is in Sisson Ridge, where scuttlebutt has it that she has become a good guardian of the home turf!
String Bean would like interested parties to consider adopting two of her buddies she had to leave behind. After String Bean, Angel and Ginger have been at the shelter the longest, waiting for adoption.
Angel came from the Perth-Andover area, and has been at the shelter for 9 months. Ginger was dropped off last winter. Both are sweet and well socialized girls, who have been spayed and have had all their needles.
A new home would make the most perfect Christmas Gift for any deserving shelter animal!
A little update: I adopted Melissa from the SPCA a couple of months ago, and she is doing great! She’s a wonderful little cat, a real cuddlebug. She had been at the shelter for a long time, and as her mother and littermates got adopted over the past year the shelter staff told me it seemed to take the wind out of her sails. She has made herself right at home at my place though, and gets along great with my other cats. In fact, she is in love with Poquito, and even surly old Miss Pearl has quit hissing at her!
The SPCA Fur Tree raffle has another sponsor so the grand prize is now worth $495.50 in gift certificates that were generously donated by local businesses.
