Cindy McLaughlin has remodelled and repurposed the former liquor store/call center in Perth-Andover at 541 East Riverside Drive into a fabulous bridal shop, prom dress source, tuxedo rental and all-around department store.
I dropped in the other day to get the details of this business in the village and was astounded by the wonderful variety of goods and services that were available in this new store.
Village residents have been asking for a department store and here it is!
The grand opening of this department store will be on November 1st. There will be in-store specials for anywhere from 5-25 percent off on selected items.
After the devastating flood of 2012 the Village of Perth-Andover lost many jobs and businesses, and Cindy has been working hard to restore our local business community.
Visitors come from all over the province, and even farther away, to select the perfect gown for their wedding. Cindy has sold gowns to brides as far away as Alberta…People find the dress they want online, then they see which store are listed that carry the dress they have chosen.
One recent bridal customer flew to Perth-Andover from Toronto to purchase the gown she had chosen from Cindy. Even after factoring in the price of her plane ticket and travel costs, she still saved $600 by buying her gown from The Look-One Stop!
This bridal shop carries a number of name brand lines, and you’ll be doing yourself a financial favour if you look here first for your wedding or prom gown before you shop elsewhere.
As you walk in, it is not immediately apparent that there are multiple rooms in the building. I was astonished when I walked around a corner into the Bridal Salon…. Cindy has furnished this beautiful room with plush and cozy cream coloured carpet and couches. There are more than 150 individual wedding gowns on display, along with any accessories a bride might require including shoes, veils, crystal jewelry and tiaras.
There is a lovely selection of fashionable and flattering Mother of the Bride gowns available, as well as beautiful dresses for bride’s maids and flower girls.
You may also rent tuxedos and formal wear from The Look-One Stop.
There are more than 150 prom dresses on display…People from surrounding areas have already begun ordering their dresses for Prom Night. Girls from Perth-Andover get 25 percent off the price of their prom dress if they buy it from The Look-One Stop.
Laney Sullivan will be an on site full time seamstress, available for in-store alterations as well any personal sewing you might need done. She has an entire sewing room in the building, just drop in.
The store will also carry a variety of clothing including necessities such as jackets, sweater, jeans, dress shirts, ties, vests, underwear and socks from name brand manufacturers such as Dickies, Silver, Fox and Haggar for both men and women.
Bedding and a variety of other household goods will also be available.
