Perth Variety Depot
The good old Variety Depot has been a fixture on the Gulch Road for many years. This thrift store opened up after the flood of 1987 and has been in operation ever since.
Five years ago Fidele Albert bought the building and continues to operate this funky old shop, which carries a mixed collection of used clothing, vintage items and antiques.
Fidele also runs a busy and bustling hair and esthetics salon just up the hill from the Depot, but he spends Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 am until 4 pm at the thrift store.
This place is one of those over-flowing cornucopias of old stuff. You never know what you will find when you begin exploring the store.
Folks who have suffered disasters can count on Fidele to donate clothing and goods to help them get back on their feet. He also provides t-shirts for school tie dye and art projects, and this is the go to place for shop rags…a full bag is just $5.
Every community needs a good thrift store, and the Variety Depot has treasures inside just waiting to be uncovered!
Fidele is in the process of remodelling the basement as a workout room with Curves equipment, which will be open soon. There will also be 2 tanning beds available. If you like the Curves workout and would like to have access to the equipment in Perth, give Fidele a call at 273-6655 to find out more.
