She’s a local girl, born and raised in Plaster Rock, and having her own salon in her home town is a dream come true!
Erica attended the aesthetics and beauty school L’Institut Jon Raymond in Moncton, and was Valedictorian of her class when she graduated four years ago.
When she finally returned home, she began making plans to open a salon to offer her services and talents to her own community.
With the help of family, she turned a cute little house at 237 Main Street into a beautiful and functional salon. She opened the salon for business just last year on October 1, 2012.
Her aunt gave her three antique doors, with china and crystal knobs, to use as she created her salon. They were so neat looking, that, rather than using them as actual doors, she painted them a deep red and installed them as the front wall to the private aesthetics room.
It is a creative and functional way to give these lovely old doors a new life.
And of course the front door to the salon is also painted a vibrant red!
The atmosphere in the salon is one of welcome. Erica says, “I love my job! I love to help make people feel more comfortable and self confident about themselves.”
Erica offers complimentary tea and coffee to her patrons and loves to chat and catch up on the latest news and views with her customers.
You can sip your tea as you sit on a fantastic vintage couch in the front room. It is upholstered in plush and luscious red velvet, and was a gift from Erica’s grandfather to her grandmother many years ago.
Her grandmother never used it…she covered it and stored it in the attic so it looks as new today as it did when it was first made!
Erica offers manicures, pedicures, waxing, shellac, gel nails, ear piercing and she does make-up for special events.
The salon stocks over 100 colours of OPI and Shellac brands of nail polish, and if you want something more trendy than just one colour on your nails, you can pick an art design from 270 samples that are displayed on nail shaped disks (I thought these were really nifty…like paint samples for fingernails!) or ask for a custom design.
Another fun service that Erica offers is hosting kid’s parties. Little girls love to play dress-up, and Erica will host a manicure and pedicure and nail painting party at her shop or at your home.
She has also done Bridal Parties…during one recent bridal shower she gave all the ladies in the wedding party pedicures as they sipped champagne!
Erica will gladly travel to visit folks who can’t get out but would like to be pampered with a manicure or pedicure at home.
