Francine St Amand and the Vigil Aunties held a Summer Solstice gathering and bonfire to celebrate the new season on the evening of June 21st.

The weather was beautiful, the conversation entertaining, the fire crackled merrily and the bugs kept away so it was a perfect night to enjoy a campfire and conversation.

It was the night before the full “super moon” as well, when the moon appears larger than usual because the earth and moon are as close together as they get in their orbits.

The Vigil Aunties is a grassroots group that meets by the fire once a month to connect and discuss community issues.

Stop by some night when you see the fire burning on the corner of Legion Street and West Riverside Drive in Andover.

All are welcome! The next fireside chat and gathering will be later this month…Check the Vigil Aunties Facebook page or the next edition of the Blackfly Gazette for the date. Hope to see you there!
