A Little Laugh
We all like a little laugh
If at oneself, or someone’s gaff
And we all think its fun to poke
A bit of fun, or tell a joke,
Laughter’s good to ease the head
“Best medicine” – so often said
So, have a grin, on my behalf
Or better yet – a little laugh!
The police had pulled him over
There’d been a theft that day
And his outfit fit the profile
Of the stolen horse and sleigh,
They asked him many questions
As they tried to make it stick
But he was smooth as butter
And could mull stuff pretty quick,
“This old mare, now nearly blind
So slow and old and bony
Has been my pal for many years
Since it was my little pony,
And this old sleigh I’m riding here
Though I admit it’s painted red
I’ve had it since I was a boy
And … it was my little sled!!!”
