Tarynn Gray Registered Massage Therapist
Many people think of massage as an expensive extravagance or decadent treat but new studies are showing that massage has a wide variety of tangible health benefits.
Research has found that massage therapy:
- boosts immune function
- Improve symptoms in children with asthma
- Increases grip strength in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome
- Calms the nervous system and promotes a sense of relaxation & wellbeing
- Reduces tension & anxiety
- Improves blood circulation
- Stimulates the lymphatic system
- Helps premature babies gain weight
- Help with pain management
Tarynn Gray has been a practicing massage therapist for over five years. She had always been interested in alternative health therapies. In her senior year of high school she began looking into Physiotherapy and found a Massage Therapy Program offered in Saint John by ICT Schools.
After doing more research into massage therapy and its benefits, Tarynn decided to pursue this healing therapy as a career.
To become a Registered Massage Therapist in New Brunswick you have to have a minimum of 2200 hours (2 years) of training.
Tarynn explains that it was a very intense program, but she found it well worth all the hard work.
A massage therapist in NB must also be part of a professional association. Tarynn is registered with the Association of New Brunswick Massage Therapists.
Tarynn shared her love for her career with us. “ I know, she said, that there are a lot of people who can’t say this themselves, but I truly LOVE my job! I have to say that when someone comes into my office and tells me that they have been looking forward to this all day it is a huge compliment. It is a great feeling to be the highlight of someone’s day!”
In today’s world there seems to be so much stress in everyone’s life, and stress takes a major toll on people’s bodies.
Many people live with chronic pain conditions or are suffering from an injury. Massage therapy can help decrease that pain level to a more manageable level. It is very rewarding as a massage therapist to be a psrt of that.”
In addition to Therapeutic Massage, Tarynn offers myofascial release, craniosacral massage and infant massage.
Massage Therapy is covered by most health insurance.
Sessions are by appointment and Tarynn is happy to work with clients who need to see her after work hours due to their own schedules.
