I Wonder
I wonder ’bout the “arming race”
Where to put the nuclear waste
Why there’s rich and why there’s poor
Will cancer ever get a cure,
I wonder ’bout the price of gold
What I’ll be like when I get old
Why “good” and “bad” must always duel
What comes after fossil fuel,
I wonder what makes biker-gangs
How to throw those boomerangs
The reason for our social ills
Hurricanes and oil-spills,
I wonder ’bout the universe
Can wisdom wind thru words of verse
What is this thing that we call time
Is it real or just a mime,
I wonder, wonder, far too much
Why do we have floods and such
What it is that makes us tick
Is life a truth or just a trick,
But, I know there is a better Place
Provided by my God’s good Grace
Where everything will be okay
Because, you see, He is “the Way”,
And if I only but believe
I will receive a full reprieve
Forever – always – peace – and pure
And … I won’t wonder anymore!
