From the Editor…
The Perth-Andover Rotary Club invited me to speak about the Blackfly Gazette at their Monday lunch meeting last week.
I got to explain a bit about how and why Jonny and I created this local newsletter. I thought I’d write a bit about that here for our readers, to explain a little about our ideas and hopes and dreams for our village and our world.
We’d actually discussed this idea, starting a local newspaper that is, some years back, but you know how things go. It got put on a back burner and mostly forgotten about for awhile. But the idea kept popping back up to nag at me, and so we started to work on the project again in earnest.
It seemed an idea whose time had come. Both of us are passionate supporters of the Shop Local Initiative, and believe that community growth and prosperity has to come from within the community itself. We wanted our newsletter to help provide a voice for the business people and citizens of our villages.
I also have a serious beef with the so-called “news” provided by most mainstream media. Mainstream Media is owned by a handful of corporations, all with an agenda of keeping people feeling afraid and powerless, the better to exploit them and suck them dry. They are dedicated to serving up “fear porn” and reporting distressing events to keep us all properly terrified and off balance.
Sure, there’s plenty of weird stuff afoot in the world right now, but there are actually many more positive events, movements and stories than you could ever imagine. But you won’t hear about this, or find out anything about these issues unless you turn off the nightly news and get your info from alternative news sites instead.
We wanted to focus on everything that was good and worthy in our local communities, and to keep folks informed of all the fascinating and inspiring stories that mainstream media either ignores or downplays.
Keeping people ignorant of our true history and events serves a nefarious and deliberate purpose for the global financial, political and corporate elites…because those who know the least obey the best.
You may have noticed that there’s currently some pretty strange happenings going on around the globe.
Bankers are falling in disgrace all over the place as their psychopathically criminal behavior continues to be exposed. This news is even starting to seep into mainstream media these days!
Big Pharma criminality is no longer a Conspiracy Theory. The bribery, fraud and price fixing they have routinely engaged in are now a matter of public record. GlaxoSmithKline merely pleaded guilty to a whole list of charges and paid a 3 billion dollar fine without a murmur…because that’s just a drop in the bucket compared to the untold billions they’ve raked in with their various scams.
Merck routinely falsified vaccine data and then used this false data to swindle the US government out of hundreds of millions of dollars for a vaccine that did not work!
The wrongdoings of plenty of other corporate, religious and political miscreants are also coming to light. It seems like every day a new sex abuse scandal is exposed. This, I will admit, is not exactly what one could call “good news.” But, what is very good about it is that people are finally throwing off the shackles of ignorance and blindness and demanding the truth. We are finally seeing that we’ve all been fed a load of lies and hooey about all these great institutions. It’s definitely time for a new game on this dear planet!
As they say, the truth will indeed set you free!
You may have heard some rumours about 2012 being the end of the world. Actually, this pivotal year of 2012 is ushering in a new level of consciousness and awareness among all humanity. It takes awhile for 7 billion people to all get on the same page, but the Occupy Movements, and Arab Spring uprisings are all symptoms that people have finally decided to take back their personal power and live real lives, lives filled with joy and creativity, instead of remaining enslaved in our false current system of money-as-debt.
This is what the Mayan Elders have to say about 2012:
“All was predicted by the mathematical cycles of the Mayan calendars. — It will change –everything will change. Mayan Day-keepers view the Dec. 21, 2012 date as a rebirth, the start of the World of the Fifth Sun. It will be the start of a new era resulting from and signified by the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator and the Earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy.”
At sunrise on December 21, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world’s spiritual traditions.
Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the Earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it, raising all to a higher level of vibration.”
As the year progresses, more and more people are waking up and beginning to demand better lives for themselves and their loved ones. This is all part of our growth and enlightenment process.
Seriously, do you really really love your job? Or do you work merely to pay bills and keep a roof over your head? Wouldn’t life be fabulous if we all got up in the morning and created for the sheer joy of it, instead of slogging off to the rat race?
We have so much to be grateful for, living here where we do. The land is lush and beautiful, and Canada is certainly one of the best countries in the world to live in.
We have beautiful communities, all ripe with promise and great futures if we all work together and support our own.
Love your community. Spend your money, time and energy in your own community to help it prosper and grow.
