John Perkins, author of “Secrets of an Economic Hitman” and “The Secret History of American Empire” (both highly recommended reads, BTW, if you want to know more about the machinations of empire building) relates this interesting interview.
 
While traveling in Tibet he met and spoke with a group of Nomads at 17,000 feet.
 
An elderly lady gave her opinion on the woes of the world. “The problems began, she said, when the men took over. Look at today! Everything is run by men.”
 
Her husband chimed in. “I have to agree. In past times the women kept us men under control. We can get pretty wild, hunting and cutting the forests, that sort of thing. The women used to tell us when we had done enough.”
