A Walk in the Park Inspires All!

Stephanie Kelley
A Walk in the Park is part of the Community Conversations Initiative that has been attracting folks to come take a group stroll through Perth-Andover to imagine new uses for flood prone lands that are now sitting vacant.

Chris thinks that a tree house campground or cottages in the trees would be totally awesome!

The walks take place on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM and meet up next to the P-A Village Office.
These walks have inspired some true Walk Stars to come up with some fabulous ideas for ways to use these lands on the Andover side of the village.
The soil is rich and lush, there is a creek that runs all year long and a huge variety of trees and flowers are growing in profusion.

On a previous walk, Luke thought this space on Warren Street would be good spot for a Drive-In. On this walk, he liked the idea of a place for Beach Volleyball

With vision and commitment from the community, this area could become a gorgeous showplace with many features that could attract visitors from near and far.
Every Walk in the Park has generated new ideas…how about:

  • A UFO Landing Pad
The possibilities are only limited by our imaginations!

The shape of this house in the trees was inspired by the Fibonacci Spiral. That's the spiral found in plants and animals like the sunflower and the snail's shell. The tiny house is just 270 ft.sq. with a small kitchen and space for a bed and chairs.
