Albert T. Beaulieu of Tobique Burl Turning in Plaster Rock
There were many wonderful craft items on display at the Visitor’s Centre in Plaster Rock during World Pond Hockey!

Albert Beaulieu makes hand turned burl bowls that are both beautiful and useful. Albert also makes the hand turned trophy cups that are awarded each year to the winning teams at World Pond Hockey.

You can contact Albert for more information at 356-2947. There are a number of local wood turners in our river valley, each leaving their unique personality and stamp on the wood they work.
These hand turned bowls and cups make unique and personal gifts ….I’ve given several as wedding gifts myself and they have a heck of a lot more character than a crock pot!

Lore-Ann Carroll and Darlene Frenette make hand knitted socks, hats, mittens and beer mitts
I also met two yarn entrepreneurs from Grand Falls who were selling hats, mittens, socks and, amusingly, “Beer Mitts”.
These ingenious knitted mitts consist of an insulated tube to slip over both the beverage of your choice and your hand that will keep your hand warm as it keeps your beverage cool. Pretty funny, and the perfect item for Pond Hockey revelry!

You can contact Lore-Ann and Darlene on the Facebook group For Sale in Grand Falls.
Support local entrepreneurs… lots of small, successful businesses will help to rejuvenate our rural economy!
