The 1st Perth-Andover Sparks Unit meets at the Andover Elementary School every Tuesday night. The girls take up a number of causes, and their promise is : “I promise to share and be a friend.” They certainly did that and more with their recent challenge to see who could get the most donations for DunRoamin Stray and Rescue in Florenceville.

All the girls did well for this challenge. The first place winner was Brooke McDougall, with a $20 Subway Gift Certificate, 2nd place (a $15 Subway Gift Card) was won by Kyelee Michaud, and 3rd place winner Kalie Elliot won a $10 Subway Gift Card.

The girls were all excited to do this donation, and were thrilled to meet DunRoamin’ mascot Big’n’Yellow who had this to say:

Hi!  My name is Big ‘n ‘Yellow.  I am a big yellow dog and I love kids!  I love kids more than dog bones.  And guess what I got to go do?!?  Angie took me to visit with a whole bunch of little girls that were having a sleep over!  They thought I was so wonderful – and why wouldn’t they?!?!  They scratched my belly, and gave me hugs, and let me have my picture taken with each of them!  I am such a lucky dog!  It was just the best sleep over EVER!  I hope they invite me to their next one…….

Guess what else those little girls did?  Not only are they the best belly scratchers, they also collected loads of stuff for DunRoamin’. There was money, food, litter (for those pesky cats), and treats.  There was soap, and toys, and blankets.  Lots and lots of stuff!! I know the animals at
DunRoamin’ will appreciate all the hard work these girls did. They sure are special girls!

So from all the strays at DunRoamin’ thank you very much to Alison McDougall and the girls of the 1st Perth-Andover Sparks Unit.
