Perth-Andover resident Kate Williams is a lay minister and life-long student of God’s Word and the Bible. She has just published a book, “Diving Deep Into Faith”, that tells the story of her own spiritual journey as she came to truly and deeply have faith in God in her own life.

Her book provides scriptural, faith based keys to help her readers build up their own faith in God, and to trust Him on a deeper level.
“ God wants us to have full trust in his ability to take care of us. As you dive deep into faith yourself you will learn how to trust God in every situation in your life.”

Having a book published is an exciting and definitely news-worthy event, so I met up with Kate to find out her story. She explained that she has always had a deep down desire to please the Lord, but she found it a struggle to open up her own faith in order to fully believe and trust in Him for her own needs and desires.
“I could believe for someone else” she explained. “If someone called me and asked for a prayer, I would pray and believe they received their healing. For others, my faith came easy, but for myself, not so much.”

She kept thinking she was missing something, a key or some vital step that would bring that “Aha!” moment when she would see the light, and there it would be… instant faith.

She wasn’t faithless because she had seen healings and miracles, but she was not able to access deep and total trust because she did not understand simple truths.

“We humans want to make things complicated when in truth, God made ALL things simple. We tend to over-think things, or doubt the truth that is sitting tight there in front of us.”
“I wanted a simple formula, when in truth, I was putting the Creator of the Universe, God, in a box. You cannot do that with the Creator, and that is where my journey began for this book.”
“I started digging deeper into God’s Word, and asking many pastors questions about my faith, and how to free it. What does faith in God mean, and what is its purpose in my life. How can I fully rely on and trust in God in every situation in my life. If the answer is simple, why was I so confused?”
“The answer was right in front of me. The Word of God is faith. It is sprinkled on every page of His Book. Nothing moves in your life without faith, because your faith moves the hand of God.”

She gave this example, “When you sit down in a chair for dinner, you don’t worry if the chair will hold you or not. You don’t check out the chair each time before you sit, you just plunk yourself down without a thought. You trust that the chair will hold you, so we DO believe in the unseen things in our lives.

“So faith is already a part of you, but you may not realize it just yet. Mark 11:23 teaches us that we only need faith as small as mustard seed to move a mountain. What God is saying is that nothing is impossible!”
“You do not need to understand Him, you just need to believe on God, not in God, but on God, like you are in a barrel with God going over Niagara Falls and you are with Him through it all.”

“This is a simple concept and the Bible is full of situations to show you how to activate your faith in every situation in your life. God is our creator who we do not see but we can believe that when we plug into him, He works.”
“This is what I feel the world needs to know, and I feel that God laid this book in my heart to write. Many people do not know how to find answers in the Bible. I used stories from the Scriptures to let people see and search for themselves what faith is in their lives, and how they can apply it to any situation.”

Kate began writing this book over two years ago as a way to offer thanks to her church in River de Chute, and to offer a road map to finding their own faith to her readers.

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a MHRT-2 Certificate in Social Work, with a Minor in English Literature. She continues to study and teach Bible classes at her church. Kate spends her days looking after children, and counselling people on God’s Word.

She will be delivering a sermon inspired by her book at the River de Chute Church on Sunday, February 16th at 10:30 am.
Kate also holds regular Bible Study classes on Wednesday evenings at Amazing Grace Church in Limestone Siding.

If you would like to purchase a copy of the book it is available at Lewis Pharmacy on Perth Main Street, in both hardcover and soft-cover formats. You may also purchase a copy from Kate personally, who will autograph it if you like, or you may order the book directly from Amazon here. It is also available in a Kindle edition.
