Christmas Love

One more sweater
To go in a drawer
That I’ll end up saying
I hardly ever wore,
One more ‘thing’
That I don’t really need
But I’ll surely exclaim
“Very nice indeed!”
Gloves and socks
Another four pair
Pastel ‘put-ons’
And ‘fashion’ underwear,
It’s not what they gave me
It’s truly – the thought
The Spirit of Christmas
Behind what they bought,
That’s what excites me
And gives me a lift
Makes me feel all fuzzy
That love comes with the gift,
The same idea holds
With Him up above
This Season assures me
That … His love is enough!
