Power of Communication

From the editor…

1freedomWay back when I was 10 years old my dad asked me this classic math question: Which would you rather have, a million dollars or a penny that is doubled every day for a month?
Well, a million bucks sure sounded good, but it also sounded an awful lot like a trick question!

I don’t remember my answer back then, I may have frozen in indecision, but if you’ve never heard this particular equation, the penny option will make you a heck of a lot richer.
One penny, doubled every day for 30 days, will add up to a whopping $5,368,709.12 on day 30.
This blew my little math challenged brain away…it still does, as a matter of fact. But I was thinking of this equation the other day, and how it relates to the internet and the power of communication, and how much more informed we are…if we’re paying attention to what is really going on…

Knowledge is power, they say!
I first began researching alternative history and information kind of by chance. Like most people, I was just making my way through life, focussed on making a living and getting by.
But as the internet gained momentum and influence, and I became more adept at research, I began stumbling across ever more strange and startling information.
Secret societies, hidden history, archaeological discoveries that are never made public….what in the world is going on?

I read that there is a vast and shadowy secret group that really controls our world, and I thought it sounded totally nuts.
Judging from my own experience, where I’d find that getting a group of people to all work in cooperation and concert towards a common goal was kind of like trying to herd a bunch of cats….how could any secret group have that much organization and focus?

2housecards_deesBut it is an error to try to interpret the actions and goals of others through the filter of your own experience.
I have long since been convinced that there are in fact many, many secret groups and societies who possess vast wealth and power and who are both overtly and covertly manipulating world events in order to enrich themselves and to exert total control over the population of this planet.

An old wheeze reminds us, “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you!”
Power is a fact of life in world government, but most of us are far removed from it. Secrecy is power’s greatest tool. Government seems distant, yet it dominates our lives.
We are increasingly isolated from one another, cocooned in our homes with our TV’s and computers so we lose track of the Big Picture that is going on.

If we were merely dealing with the law of averages, half of the events that shape the world and cause the policies that affect our lives would be in the favour of us regular folks, and would be good for us.
If we were dealing with mere incompetence, you’d think our political leaders would occasionally make a mistake in our favour.
But we are not really dealing with coincidence or stupidity, but with brilliance and long range planning.

Why, given the knowledge, technology and vast wealth on this planet, are our economies tanking all around the world.
What is up with all this austerity crap anyway?
British journalists recently uncovered secret emails revealing over 30 trillion dollars hidden in offshore accounts by various rich people, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
30 trillion dollars is enough to give every man, woman and child on this planet a little bonus checque of $4,000!

The Rockefeller family in the US, who dictate so many American policies, possess over 10 trillion dollars in wealth.
The Rothschild banking family, who control many world events are apparently worth more than 500 trillion dollars!
Holy Smokes, Batman, that is an unimaginable amount of moola.
So if just two families on earth possess this much wealth, why the hell aren’t the people of the world being taken care of?

How come everyone is being told to tighten their belts and give up what money they have left to people and corporations who are already stupid rich?
Why are our kids still being shipped off to fight and die in other countries to make even more money for these bastards?

Why isn’t some of this money being invested in the wellbeing and future of the people of the world?
Why do 25,000 children die from poverty and starvation every single day on this planet?
Why aren’t kids in schools taught how to think, instead of being taught to memorize pointless crap?
The human brain was designed to imagine, dream and think….not be a storage unit for random facts!

Why are we rural New Brunswickers being told to move to cities to find work. Why are we losing services and jobs every hour of every day?
Why does the CEO of NB Power, who makes over $350,000 a year, get to live in wealth and comfort while NB Power Dams flood and destroy our communities?

Why are the Irvings the second richest family in Canada, yet New Brunswick is one of the poorest provinces in our country?

And, apparently not content with that, the Irving Corporation is now champing at the bit to open up our beautiful and mostly pristine province to the documented horrors and dangers of both hydro-fracking and running a pipeline to transport oil sands tar across New Brunswick.

The way to combat all of this income and wealth inequality and social injustice and destructive policies is for us regular folks to stick together and make new paths for ourselves.
The internet has connected people and information around the globe, in ways that the powers that be did not imagine. Its power to connect people took the secret government by surprise, which is why they are now squawking to monitor and limit it in order to maintain their control over us.

So, don’t listen to the claptrap of governments and corporations….which are now the same, actually. We the people can choose a different path and use the power of connection to support and nourish each other, if we put our minds and efforts towards this future!

In my mind’s eye, I see NB as a Garden of Eden, with rebuilt rural communities that celebrate their history and art and culture.
We rebuild our wealth by taking care of the land, not ruining it to extract petro-chemicals.

Here’s to a better future for us all!
