Plaster Rock 2013 SummerFest will be held on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of August and this year’s venue promises to be well worth attending. Three days of music and fun for the whole family as all age groups will be catered to!

Friday August 23rd

Friday evening at 6 pm-7 pm The Plaster Rock Royal Canadian Legion will host Perley the Magician and he will be weaving his magic spells and bringing a show filled with mystery and magic to all who attend. A show that is sure to please all ages and confound everyone with his magical skills.

The Legion will then host the annual Tobique Valley Idol competition at 7:30 pm.

At 6:30 pm the Plaster Rock Legion will host the bingo sessions at the Plaster Rock Welcome Center 6:30 pm is the early birds with regular sessions starting at 7 pm.

Starting at 9 pm and ending at 1 am at the Roulston Lake Pavilion, there will be a kitchen party with a Beer Garden with TimParsons Friends and Family entertaining with his great style of country music. Tickets for this event are $10.

Saturday August 24th

At 9:30 am there will be a parade through the village starting at the High School and ending at the Plaster Rock Tourist park. The theme for the parade this year is Redneck and all are invited to enter floats or take part in some way. Contact to enter a float can be made at the village office 356-6075 or 6070. The funnier the float and the crazier the costumes will only add to the fun.

From 11 am throughout the day there will be a village market, children’s games, giant bouncy castle obstacle course and water slide for the youngsters to have great fun.

Throughout the weekend there will also be a mini golf course set up by the tennis courts and also other kids amusement games for lots of fun for the younger people.

Washer Toss championship tournament for those who wish to show their prowess and skill. The swimming pool will be open for those who wish to enjoy themselves and take part in some of the games there as well.

A Volley Ball Tournament will also be held if coaches are willing to volunteers and help teams wishing to enter. Call the recreational department for information at 356-6075.

Gagetown Army base is also sending up a display and we are hoping for some of their mechanized regiment to have something special there for all to see. So why not come along and support our troops, tell them how we all appreciate what they are doing for this great country. Children’s entertainment games will be ongoing.

At 3 pm -6 pm The East Coast Opry will be at the Tobique-Plex Arena and this promises to be a spectacular show with many entertainers. Families are welcome! Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for kids under 12.

This is a show for young and old alike. Come and enjoy a great afternoon of the best music has to offer!

At 9 pm. the star attraction will take center stage when Clay Harrison and Flat Top bring their talents to the stage. There will be dancing and a licensed bar for all to enjoy throughout the evening. Clay is truly one of New Brunswick’s star attractions and his dynamic on stage performance will bring everyone to the dance floor!

Tickets for this event are $15 ( tickets to both music events on Saturday are $25)

Sunday August 25th

Start your day with a pancake breakfast in the Tobique-Plex Lobby. This breakfast will be hosted by the Plaster Rock Air Cadets from 8 am until 11 am.

There will be a village market held all day in the Tobique-Plex parking lot from 9 am until 4 pm.

Funny Boat Race on Roulston Lake at 12 pm- 2 pm. All are invited to enter a boat of their own design and making!

The rules are: All boats must be made out of cardboard, duct tape and water based paint only. The boats have to make just three hundred feet around a marked course.

Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place contestants at the finish line. Fancy dress is mandatory! Entry forms and rules are available upon request at the village office and the cost per entry is $10. There are two age groups for boat entries: Age groups are 9-15 and 16 and up. Only six water balloons are allowed to each boat as weapons of defense to repel boarders!

2 pm in the Lake Pavilion Wildwood will be entertaining and the cost per ticket is $10.00.

There will be a pre-teen kid’s movie at the Welcome center building in the early evening.

At 10 pm there will be Teen Pool Party held at the Plaster Rock Swimming Pool.
