Venus Transit 2012

Venus in Transit Across the Face of the Sun
Venus in Transit Across the Face of the Sun
Next month our solar system will experience a Venus Transit, one of the rarest of planetary alignments. This spectacular event takes place on June 5th and will be visible to us here in NB at sunset.

Venus will be visible as a small spot moving across the face of the sun. However, do not try to watch this without proper eye protection! You will need eclipse viewing glasses, which are made especially for watching solar eclipses, or a welding mask to avoid damaging your eyes. Sunglasses do not count, so don’t try it!

We will also be able to watch this transit on the internet. Several sources, including NASA, will be showing it via live web cast.
Only seven Venus Transits have occurred since the invention of the telescope. These transits happen in pairs, with 8 years between them. Our last Venus Transit was in 2004 so this second half of the pair in June will be a once in a lifetime event for us….the next Venus Transit will be on December 11, 2117.

Venus Transits are exciting events, and not just because of the view. You may scoff at the idea of astrological influences on humanity, but Venus Transits have always preceded great breakthroughs in human consciousness.

So it is particularly meaningful that this transit is occurring in 2012, the year that many indigenous peoples have predicted will bring new and higher levels of perception and consciousness to mankind.

Vive La Revolution!

Here’s a bit of the interesting history and events during previous Venus Transits.
Our first recorded pair of transits occurred in 1631 and 1639. There was a new world emerging. This is when Galileo committed the heresy of saying that the Earth was not the center of the universe.
We take this as a self evident truth now, but Galileo put his life on the line when he contradicted the all-powerful church. It was the era of a new generation of scientists and knowledge of the world , and it signaled a huge power shift between the church and science. Many new inventions were ever expanding man’s knowledge of his world, which vastly reduced the absolute power of the Pope.

This, of course, created an enormous shift in the way people thought, believed and related to the world around them.

The next pair of transits came in 1761 and 1769. The American Revolution began brewing over here in the New World, and the Industrial Revolution began in England.
These were world changing events, and once again signaled a huge shift in the way people thought of themselves and their place in the universe, as well as bringing enormous technological advances.

Our third pair of transits took place in 1874 and 1882 and again, this era saw giant strides in technology and communication. Electricity and the telephone, among other new inventions, became available for mainstream public use.

The common feature of each of these transits was exploration and the seeking of scientific knowledge with huge breakthroughs during the times of each transit. The most common theme of these times was revolution.

Which brings us to our present point in time, which is alive with the vibrations of revolution. No matter where you go in the world, all peoples are finally rising up against the ruling elites and the status quo and saying “ENOUGH!”

Humanity is finally waking up to the fact that we’ve been getting the shaft for a couple of thousand years. This is a planet of plenty, and somehow this has been twisted around into slavery for most, with an embarrassment of riches for those few at the top.

Along with demanding economic and social justice, people are also twigging to the reality that we’ve been lied to about the true nature of the physics of our multi-verse. It is increasingly common knowledge that there is, in fact, clean, free, and limitless energy available…energy that will change the course of our reality and destiny.

We live in some very exciting times!
